HISTORY
Schwieterman Inc. can trace its roots back to the 1930's. In 1930, the brokerage firm, Goffe Carkener Inc., opened an office on Main Street in Garden City, Kansas. In 1972, Heinold Commodities took over the Goffe Carkener brokerage business. Luke Schwieterman joined Heinold's Garden City office, one of 104 branch offices, in 1975. At that time, Inez Phillips was the Garden City Branch Manager, Heinold's first female Branch Manager. In 1982, Luke became a partner in the Garden City office, and in 1984, Luke became the sole proprietor. Finally, in 1988, Schwieterman Inc. was born.
